A NH resident overheard this morning on the radio: “I really don’t like this new voting schedule. There just isn’t enough time between Iowa and us for us to get some quality face time with the candidates. You know like one on one or small group environments with no more than 100 participants. Instead we’re having to do things like watch TV debates and read the newspapers.”

WTF. Those self-important turds. You mean NH is pissed because they’re a little more LIKE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY?

The primary mechanism we have may have worked 200 years ago, but it’s time to update it for the information age. We should work primaries the same way we work the general election. It all happens on one day. Candidates run a real national campaign. This would also cull the list of loser candidates who just want their 15 minutes in the limelight a little sooner. Hell, it’s not like they don’t all run a fairly national campaign starting almost a full year before any primaries anyway…
