More Leg Problems
I went out last Sunday to run 10 miles.
I managed to run 1.86 miles.
My legs were killing me. I tried walking for a bit but even that wasn’t working. Eventually my ankles were so swollen that my feet started going numb and I figured that’d be bad to continue running. I was pretty bummed since this was supposed to be one of my big runs and I had been prepping for it.
Fortunately though I managed to get in to see Dr. Von Bergen on Monday and he figured out that my ligaments are having trouble because my deep lymphatic system is malfunctioning… due to toxic sweets. Toxic sweets. Hmm. It could be one of only 2 new things added to my diet recently. The first is of course the EFS sports drink. I seriously hope it’s not that… and I don’t think it is since while drinking that I did over eight miles the week before. The other thing was this really weird pumpkin pie KT brought home from a photo shoot at Central Market.
She was doing some work there and for whatever reason someone gave her this “healthy” pumpkin pie. It was very weird. It had a whole wheat crust and the pumpkin wasn’t… normal. I don’t know how else to describe it. My hunch is that in order to achieve “healthy” status it has some odd sweeteners in it. Chicory root extract or rice syrup or something odd like that.
So now 10 miles is back on the schedule for this coming Sunday.
I’m hoping my feet don’t go numb again. The half-marathon is less than a month away.
